First Line Engineering are seeking an experienced Structural Steel Detailerwith robust Tekla Structuresexpertise to join their team in Yatala QLD.

/n This role offers the chance to work on diverse and technically challenging projects in a supportive, team-oriented environment. You'll be using your Tekla Structures skills to produce accurate drawings and documentation, while working closely with engineers, project managers, and fabrication teams.

Key Responsibilities

/n

Prepare detailed fabrication drawings using Tekla Structures.

/n

Review and interpret architectural and structural documentation.

/n

Manage multiple drafting projects from start to finish.

/n

Generate NC data, shop drawings, and reports for fabrication.

/n

Maintain drawing registers and ensure compliance with standards.

/n

Liaise with clients, contractors, and internal teams to resolve queries.

/n

Participate in project meetings and attend site visits as required.

/n

Mentor and support junior drafters when needed.

/n

Skills & Experience





/n

Proven experience in structural steel detailing across industrial, commercial & residential projects.

/n

Proficiency in Tekla Structures, Tekla Model Sharing and Trimble Connect

/n

Utilizing Point Clouds within Tekla Structures to generate existing structures.

/n

Strong ability to interpret architectural and engineering drawings.

/n

High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills.

/n

Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

/n

Ability to manage workloads and meet deadlines.

/n

Current Driver's Licence and White Card (or willingness to obtain).

/n

Background in steel fabrication and detailing across diverse project types.

/n

Trade or tertiary qualifications in engineering, drafting, or construction.

/n

5+ years experience in the Australian steel/construction industry.

/n

3D Scanning and site set-out using Trimble equipment & Field Link software.
