We are looking for aMid to Senior Software Engineerto join a growing product team building a genuinely greenfield platform.
This is a role for someone who enjoyssolving problems rather than just picking up tickets.
You'll work closely with Product, Design and Engineering to understand the problem, challenge assumptions where needed, and build solutions that have a real impact.
The team is alsoAI-forward in how they build software.
AI-assisted development, coding agents and new tooling are already part of the engineering workflow, with the team looking at how AI can be embedded into the product itself.
What you'll be doing
Building and shipping new functionality across a greenfield product
Working closely with Product and Engineering to turn complex problems into simple, scalable solutions
Taking ownership of features from early discussions through to production
Contributing to technical decisions, architecture and engineering standards
Building reliable, well-tested software with performance and maintainability in mind
Working across backend systems, APIs, data and integrations
Getting involved in production, deployment and improving the way the team builds and ships software
Using AI tooling thoughtfully to accelerate development while maintaining strong engineering judgement




Helping shape the engineering culture and technical foundations as the team continues to grow
What we're looking for
We're open on your exact background and technology stack.
You might have experience with:
Ruby on Rails
TypeScript / Node.js
Elixir
Or anotherfunctional programming languageor up-to-date backend technology
More importantly, you'll be someone who:
Has solid commercial software engineering experience
Enjoys getting stuck into ambiguous and challenging problems
Thinks beyond the ticket and considers the wider product and system
Works well in a collaborativeproduct engineering environment
Is comfortable challenging ideas and contributing to technical decisions
Cares about writing clean, maintainable and well-tested code
Has a genuine interest inAI and how it is changing the way software is built
Wants to take ownership and have a meaningful influence on what gets built
Experience with distributed systems, event-driven architecture,AWS, PostgreSQL, React/TypeScriptor high-volume systems would be beneficial, butthe right mindset and problem-solving ability are more important than ticking every technology box.
Salary can go up to $165,000 + Super
Sydney based - 4 days in office - CBD location
