Senior Automation Tester – Energy
We are seeking an experiencedSenior Automation Testerto join a leading energy organisation, supporting the quality assurance and testing of critical business applications, integrations and technology platforms.
The role will focus on developing and executing robust automated testing solutions across applications, APIs, databases, integrations and infrastructure.
You will work closely with development, business, architecture, DevOps and operational teams to ensure systems are reliable, resilient and fit for purpose in a business-critical energy environment.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop and maintain automated test frameworks and test suites usingPlaywright, Selenium, Reqnroll/Cucumberand other modern automation technologies.
Develop automation solutions using.NET, Java and/or Python.
Perform comprehensiveAPI testingusing tools such asPostman, Rest Assured and RestSharp.
Integrate automated testing intoAzure DevOps and CI/CD pipelines.
Perform functional, integration, regression, system and end-to-end testing across complex enterprise applications.




ConductSQL and database validation, including data integrity, transformation and reconciliation testing.
Testbatch processes, file-based integrations and API-based integrationsacross multiple technology platforms.
Develop and executeperformance, resilience and reliability testing.
Validate systemmonitoring, logging and observability, ensuring operational issues can be effectively detected, diagnosed and resolved.
Design and execute testing forhigh availability, disaster recovery, automated failover, site switchovers and system recovery scenarios.
Identify defects, perform root-cause analysis and work collaboratively with development and technical teams through to resolution.
Contribute to the continuous improvement of test automation frameworks, testing practices and quality engineering standards.
Prepare test documentation, results, defect reports and technical testing artefacts.
Collaborate across multiple teams and technology domains to ensure quality is embedded throughout the delivery lifecycle.
Essential Technical Skills & Experience
Strong experience intest automationusingPlaywright, Selenium and Reqnroll/Cucumber.
Strong API testing experience withPostman, Rest Assured and/or RestSharp.
Experience withAzure DevOps and CI/CD testing.
StrongSQL and database validationskills.
Experience testingbatch, file-based and API integrations.
Hands-on experience withperformance, resilience and reliability testing.
Experience validatingmonitoring, logging and observabilitycapabilities.
Experience developing and maintaining automation frameworks using.NET, Java and/or Python.
Demonstrated experience testinghigh availability, disaster recovery, automated failover, site switchovers and recovery scenarios.
