Role Overview
We're looking for a Special Counsel to support the Sydney team. In this role you will be exposed to a variety of insurance matters with a focus on professional indemnity, building on your experience as you progress toward more senior roles within the practice.
Responsibilities
Provide expert advice on policy and complex issues with a practical, client‐focused approach, manage client expectations and run matters autonomously, and mentor junior lawyers and paralegals.
Requirements
Approximately 8+ years' post‐admission experience in insurance matters
Strong knowledge of litigation and insurance law, including professional indemnity claims involving both coverage and defence
Ability to advise on policy and complex issues with a practical and client‐focused approach
Ability to manage client expectations and run matters autonomously
A clear and concise communication style
A commercial approach and the ability to articulate and negotiate effectively
Enthusiasm for mentoring lawyers and paralegals
Strong interest in advancing your career and taking on more responsibility
