Applications are invited for a Clinical Research Fellow Higher (ST3-5/ST6+) in Neonatology with Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust to commence from 07 September **** until 05 September ****.
In order to be considered applicants must meet the following essential criteria, MBBS or equivalent, MRCPCH, minimum 6 months tertiary level NICU experience within the NHS, ability to work as part of a team basic computer skills.
Please note that this post does not carry Postgraduate Dean's approval or training recognition.
Full Registration and a Licence to Practice with the General Medical Council at point of application is required.
The applicant must have excellent skills in listening, reading, writing and speaking in English that enable effective and compassionate communication about medical topics with patients and colleagues, as set out in the GMC's Valuable Medical Practice *****).
Non-UK applicants must possess the IELTS/OET exam before obtaining a GMC licence to practice.

The post will be based within the Academic Department of Paediatrics,



University of Cambridge, and the Neonatal Unit at Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
The primary role of the post holder is to provide clinical input into the design and delivery of key clinical studies evaluating the efficacy, safety and usability of novel glucose monitoring devices in newborn infants.
The Fellow will support the multidisciplinary research team to deliver the group's portfolio of studies in accordance with Good Clinical Practice (GCP), including single-centre physiological studies, device trials, and larger CTIMP studies.
This post is designed to develop skills in clinical research methodology, trial management and academic writing, and offers excellent opportunities for a motivated individual to develop their own area of interest and to prepare applications for further research funding or higher degrees.
The ideal post holder will have a sound knowledge of glucose monitoring technology and an understanding of protocol design and ethical applications.
They will be enthusiastic about working collaboratively alongside others in the research team including PhD and post-doctoral research associates and research nurses.
The timetable will be dependent on the evolving study, education demands of the individual, and the department.
An essential part of the role is flexibility to be available to support the recruitment and delivery of clinical studies.
There is no clinical commitment to the post, however there are often opportunities to undertake locum clinical shifts within NICU for those wishing to maintain their clinical skills.
