The post holder will be an expert in both Interventional Radiology patient pathways and pre-assessment
They will be responsible for assessing, developing and implementing specialist nursing care programmes and undertaking specialist nursing procedures within the IR treatment pathway
Responsible for providing specialist advice and support to, and liaising with, other staff.
This includes the provision of specialist education and training for other staff and students
Responsible for implementing a clearly defined integrated approach to patient care using encompassing new treatments and evidence based practice
Required to undertake research and lead clinical audits in own specialist area
Acts as Deputy for the Radiology Senior Sister in their absence
Assessment, planning, implementing and evaluating care, as an autonomous practitioner with specialist skills.
Where applicable and qualified as a Nurse Independent Prescriber, prescribe or omit any drugs within clinical competencies
Provision of care through screening programmes nurse-led clinics, accepting referrals, undertaking diagnostic procedures, undertaking therapeutic procedures, physical assessments and obtaining written consent to treatment.
Referring patients directly to specialists in other professions
Providing expert specialist clinical advice for patients, carers and health care professionals
