About the Role
LaserBond is strengthening its safety and quality discipline.
We are seeking a Safety & Quality Assurance Officer to join our central People, Safety & Quality (PSQ) function.
This is an independent assurance role.
You will work closely with supervisors and teams on the shop floor.
Your role is to provide independent safety and quality assurance by supporting operations, verifying compliance, investigating incidents and non-conformances, and ensuring risks and corrective actions are identified, addressed and escalated where necessary.
You will be hands-on and visible in the workshop, intervening early to prevent injuries, incidents and quality failures.
When issues occur, you will lead investigations and ensure corrective actions are applied and effective.
Working as part of the National Safety & Quality Team you will report to the Safety & Quality Manager working closely with Safety & Quality Assurance Officers at other sites to help develop and enhance our safety & quality systems.
Key Responsibilities
Assurance & Investigation
Lead investigations into injuries, serious near misses and quality non-conformances
Conduct root cause analysis (5 Whys, Fishbone, ICAM or similar)
Prepare investigation reports and lessons-learned communications
Verify corrective and preventative actions




Escalate recurring or systemic risks
Audits & Compliance
Conduct safety and quality audits and inspections
Verify compliance with WHS procedures, SOPs and quality standards
Maintain hazard, incident and corrective action registers
Support internal, external and customer audits
Ensure compliance and recertification of ISO's
Operational Partnering
Work alongside managers, supervisors and workshop teams
Coach leaders on hazard identification and investigations
Support correct application of procedures and customer reporting
Identify risks and intervene early
Escalation & Risk Management
Escalate unacceptable safety and quality risks
Recommend stop-work or quality holds where required
Elevate unresolved risks to senior leadership
About You
Essential
Experience working with safety management systems
Strong investigation and root cause analysis capability
Working knowledge of WHS legislation and quality principles
Confidence to challenge and hold boundaries
Strong communication skills
Desirable
Experience working with quality management systems (highly desirable)
Cert IV WHS (or equivalent)
Internal auditing experience (ISO **** / ISO *****)
Exposure to lean, CI or 5S
