Renewable Energy Specialist – New Builds

Smart Energy is looking for a
Renewable Energy Specialist
to join our growing New Builds team, working directly with some of Australia's home builders and their customers.
This is a unique opportunity to sit at the intersection of
customer experience, renewable energy and consultative sales
.
You'll help customers understand how they can get more from their new home through larger solar systems, battery storage and EV charging solutions — creating better long-term savings for the homeowner while delivering a fantastic experience for our builder partners.
This isn't about high-pressure selling.
It's about
building trust, understanding what the customer actually needs and helping them make a smarter decision for their home.
About the Role
You'll join a small, high-impact team of two and manage customers who have been referred to Smart Energy through our builder partnerships.
By the time they reach you, they're already building a new home and have an opportunity to review the renewable energy solution included in their build.
Your job is to understand their lifestyle, energy needs and future plans, then guide them through the options available — whether that means increasing their solar capacity, adding battery storage or preparing their home for an EV.

knows their customer has been looked after professionally.

strengthens its builder relationships while growing revenue and margin.
What You'll Do
Receive customer consultation requests from our builder partners and review supplied plans, specifications and quotes
Speak directly with customers to understand their energy needs, priorities and budget
Identify opportunities for customers to upgrade their solar system, add battery storage or install EV charging
Clearly explain the benefits, savings and long-term value of different renewable energy options
Provide a helpful,



consultative experience without using high-pressure sales tactics
Prepare and manage quotes, customer follow-ups and associated administration
Keep builders informed and confident that their customers are receiving a great experience
Manage your consultation pipeline and follow-ups with strong organisation and attention to detail
Work closely with your teammate to manage workload and maintain consistently high service standards
Continue building your technical and commercial knowledge across the rapidly evolving home electrification space
What We're Looking For
Above everything else, we're looking for someone who is

You'll be approachable, patient and genuinely interested in helping customers make the right decision rather than simply pushing for a sale.
Essential
Excellent communication and people skills
A warm, professional and relationship-focused approach
Robust organisational skills and confidence managing admin and follow-ups
Great time management and the ability to manage your own pipeline
A proactive, self-starting approach to problem-solving
Strong attention to detail
A genuine drive to learn, develop and progress
An understanding that strong relationships create long-term commercial results
Highly Regarded
Technical knowledge of
solar, battery storage or EV charging
Experience working within renewable energy, electrical, energy or home electrification
Previous consultative sales or customer-facing experience
Experience working with builders, developers or within the new-build residential construction industry
Sales experience isn't essential.
If you've got the right technical knowledge,



customer approach and willingness to learn, we'll support you with the sales and conversion side of the role.
