The Leukaemia Foundation is on an exciting transformation journey to deliver greater impact to our key stakeholders and the Australian community.
Join a national organisation standing with Australia to help cure and conquer every blood cancer – with care.
Together we're attacking every blood cancer, from every direction, in every way we can.
Now more than ever, the path to conquering blood cancer requires us to work together and ensure 100% access to the right information, the best treatments, the latest trials, tests and diagnostic tools; and the best supportive care to help people not just to survive - but also to live well.
Job Description
For 50 years, the Leukaemia Foundation has been the only national charity dedicated to Australians affected by leukaemia, lymphoma, myeloma and the 120+ other blood cancers and blood disorders.
We're made up of patients, carers, healthcare professionals, researchers and an army of volunteers and supporters – and our volunteers are central to how we deliver on our mission.
Now we're creating a brand-new role to lead this work nationally.
We're looking for a

About the role
This newly established, national position reports to the GM, People & Culture.
You'll build the frameworks, systems and culture that attract, develop and retain volunteers across the country.
You'll shape an engaging volunteer experience that empowers people to make a meaningful difference, supporting major fundraising campaigns like the World's Greatest Shave, community events and other initiatives that help improve the lives of people impacted by blood cancer.
By creating a strong volunteer culture where people feel valued, connected and inspired,
you'll build a thriving national volunteer network that delivers lasting impact and encourages volunteers to stay and grow with the organisation

Designing and rolling out a scalable, national volunteer program
Leading volunteer attraction and recruitment - campaigns, sourcing, screening, interviewing and selection
Building onboarding, induction and training programs
Creating recognition initiatives that celebrate our volunteers' contribution
Setting up systems to track participation, compliance and impact
Partnering across the Foundation, and with community and education partners, to open new volunteer pathways
What you'll bring
Demonstrated experience developing or leading volunteer programs or community engagement initiatives
Strong understanding of the volunteer lifecycle — recruitment, onboarding, retention
Experience building frameworks, policies and processes from scratch
Solid stakeholder engagement skills across all levels of an organisation
Ability to manage competing priorities in a newly established function
Knowledge of the legislative and compliance side of volunteer engagement
An undergraduate qualification or equivalent experience
A few more things
A current Working with Children Check (or ability to obtain one) is required before starting
Standard probity checks apply
Occasional domestic travel and after-hours work may be required; a current driver's licence is needed
You'll be part of a team that's genuinely proud of its impact, with room to grow, flexibility in how you work, and the chance to build something from the ground up.
Every volunteer you bring on board is one more person helping an Australian family through one of the hardest chapters of their life.
Salary including generous salary packaging up to $15,900 & meal and entertainment card $2,650
