The Role
As Legal Counsel, you will play a key role in supporting legal matters across both the Australian and New Zealand businesses.
Reporting to the Senior Legal Counsel and working as part of the broader Corporate & Legal Affairs Team, you will provide practical, commercially focused legal advice that enables business objectives while effectively managing legal and regulatory risk.
This is a hands-on role where you will partner with stakeholders across the organisation, offering strategic guidance on a broad range of legal matters and helping to ensure the business operates in a compliant and responsible manner.
You will be a trusted advisor to the Senior Legal Counsel, Head of Corporate & Legal Affairs, and key business leaders, contributing to business decisions, supporting projects and initiatives, and fostering a robust culture of governance and compliance across Australia and New Zealand.

Principle Accountabilities
Provide commercially focused legal and regulatory advice to business stakeholders across Australia and New Zealand, supporting strategic decision-making and risk management.
Review, draft, negotiate, and manage a broad range of commercial agreements, including customer supply contracts, trading terms, and supplier agreements.
Ensure compliance with applicable legislation and regulations, including competition law, privacy and data protection requirements, industry regulations, and corporate governance obligations.
Identify, assess, and mitigate legal and regulatory risks by monitoring legislative developments, advising on external communications,



and partnering with external legal counsel where required.
Support and promote a strong compliance culture through the development and delivery of training programs, policy reviews, regulatory reporting, and compliance initiatives across the business.
Provide practical, audience-focused legal advice that resolves complex issues and disputes in a timely manner while balancing legal risk with broader commercial objectives.
Skills and Experience Required
Australian-qualified lawyer with 3+ years' PQE, gained in a top or mid-tier law firm and/or a large corporate or FMCG environment.
Strong knowledge of commercial contracts, regulatory compliance, Australian Consumer Law, competition law, and privacy legislation.
Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to provide practical, commercially focused legal advice across all levels of the business.
Commercially astute, organised, and able to effectively balance legal risk with business objectives in a fast-paced environment.
Strong communication and influencing skills; experience within a highly regulated industry is advantageous.
