Senior Community Nurse | Central and North West London NHS Foundation Trust
Are you looking for a new role in a supportive and dynamic team or perhaps looking for your next challenge!
CICH North Neighbourhood Team are looking for a dynamic and skilled Community B6 Nurse, for a 6 months fixed term contract.
As a senior nurse within the service you will be responsible for providing skilled leadership to colleagues during the shift.
This will include allocating workload and managing the caseload of the team.
Prioritising patients based on need.
You will manage the performance and development of staff, be responsible for providing supervision for staff, ensuring that a high standard of skilled nursing care is provided to patients.
You will use specialist knowledge in assessing, planning and implementing care and demonstrate high level problem solving and decision-making skills.
Community experience is essential.
Applications welcome from car drivers and "walkers".
As this is a community nursing role, the expectation is for all clinicians to travel independently between sites with the equipment / consumables needed for their role.
As the senior nurse you will help coordinate the shift ensuring that all staff carry out skilled evidence based nursing intervention.
You will be a point of contact for staff on duty and use your skills to manage complex, challenging and demanding clinical situations.
You will assess, prioritise and manage the active caseload, using coordination and leadership skills to ensure this is done effectively.
You will use your skills to teach staff, demonstrating and supervising nursing care to patients.




Provide managerial supervision to the staff you are responsible for including yearly appraisal.

Clinical Duties
Carries out skilled evidence based nursing intervention.
Manages complex,



challenging and demanding clinical situations.
Teaches, demonstrates and supervises nursing care to patients.
Ensure clinical practice of the team is up to date and based on current evidence base.
Apply current Infection Control Policy issues and universal precautions.
Assesses, prioritises and manages caseload
Professional
Maintains current NMC registration and follows Qualified Code of Conduct.
Actively participates in training and development of team members.
Maintains own professional practice.
Provides and takes part in Clinical Supervision.
Deals professionally with sensitive and confidential information.
Undertakes appraisal/annual reviews for team members.
Managerial
Priorities and allocates clinical work to team members according to competency.
Maintains accurate records and returns as required by service managers or the Trust.
Maintains staff rotas to cover caseloads.
Ensures team members have current mandatory training records.
Identifies clinical risk to Clinical Leads and reports on incidents.
Undertakes systematic caseload reviews.
