As a Commis Chef, you will work closely alongside senior chefs to support food preparation, cooking, and service across multiple kitchen sections.
This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about food, eager to develop their culinary skills, and enthusiastic about building a long-term career within a professional kitchen environment.
You'll play an important part in creating a safe, welcoming, and enjoyable dining experience while continually learning from experienced colleagues and expanding your knowledge across a range of culinary disciplines.
The Role
Assist with the preparation, cooking, and presentation of food across all kitchen sections.
Follow recipes, preparation sheets, and portion controls in line with company standards.
Support the delivery of food service, ensuring dishes are produced to the highest standards and served on time.
Gain experience across different areas of the kitchen, including the main kitchen, deli, hospitality, and food preparation sections.
Maintain excellent standards of cleanliness, organisation, and food hygiene at all times.
Follow all food safety, allergen, and HACCP procedures, including labelling requirements and company processes.
Assist with stock rotation, deliveries, and basic stock control procedures.
Minimise waste and support sustainability initiatives wherever possible.
Work collaboratively with the wider kitchen team to ensure the smooth day-to-day running of operations.




Demonstrate flexibility by supporting events, functions, and changing business requirements when required.
About You
An NVQ Level 2 qualification in Professional Cookery (or equivalent), or a willingness to work towards one.
A genuine passion for food and a desire to learn and develop within a professional kitchen environment.
The ability to work confidently across multiple kitchen sections.
Excellent attention to detail, particularly in relation to food safety and allergen management.
Positive organisational and time management skills, with the ability to follow instructions accurately.
A positive attitude and a flexible approach to work.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
The ability to remain calm, organised, and professional in a busy environment.
