This opportunity is particularly suited to applicants who live in Western Sydney or nearby suburbs and can reliably travel to participants' homes and service locations.
Areas may include
Blacktown, Mount Druitt, St Marys, Penrith, Rooty Hill, Doonside, Seven Hills, Toongabbie, Wentworthville, Parramatta, Merrylands, Granville
, and surrounding suburbs.
About the Role
As a Disability Support Worker, you will provide person-centred support to NDIS participants, helping them maintain independence, participate in their communities, and achieve their individual goals.
The role involves providing practical assistance while respecting each participant's
choice, privacy, dignity, and independence
.
Key Responsibilities
Your duties may include:
Providing assistance with daily living and personal care.
Supporting social participation and community access.
Providing domestic assistance.
Preparing meals.
Transporting participants to appointments, activities, and community events.
Supporting participants to work towards their NDIS goals.
Providing medication assistance within the scope of your training and responsibilities.
Following individualised participant support plans.
Completing accurate progress notes and required documentation.
Reporting incidents, concerns, and changes in participant circumstances appropriately.
Promoting participant autonomy, choice, control, privacy, and dignity.
Maintaining professional boundaries and following organisational policies.
Qualifications
A
Certificate III, Certificate IV, or formal disability support qualification is not necessarily required
for this opportunity.
Relevant qualifications and previous disability support experience are desirable but may not be essential.
However, applicants must obtain and maintain all required clearances, certifications, and compliance documentation before commencing work.
Requirements
Applicants should have:
A current
NDIS Worker Screening Check
.
A recent
National Police Check
.
A current
Working With Children Check
, where required.
Current First Aid certification.
Current CPR certification.
Completion of the
NDIS Worker Orientation Module
.
A current Australian driver's licence.
Access to a reliable vehicle.
Appropriate vehicle insurance if transporting participants.
Legal working rights in Australia, subject to the applicable visa and employment arrangements.
The ability to meet Yahweh Care's onboarding and compliance requirements.

The successful candidate should demonstrate:

A genuine desire to support people living with disabilities.
Previous NDIS or disability support experience is an advantage.
Flexible Availability
Yahweh Care is looking for workers who can accommodate flexible schedules, including:
Morning shifts
Day shifts
Afternoon and evening shifts
Weekend shifts
Public holiday shifts
Sleepover shifts
Overnight shifts
Specific shift availability will depend on participant and organisational requirements.
Location Requirement
This position is based in
Western Sydney
.
Applicants should live in Western Sydney or a nearby area and be able to travel reliably to participant locations.
If you cannot regularly travel to service locations across Western Sydney, this chance may not be suitable.
