Student Enrolment and Fees Officer
About the Role
The Student Enrolment and Fees Officer analyses and presents financial information relating to tuition fees, ancillary and service charges to students, sponsors, student recruitment agents, OSHC providers and key internal stakeholders.
The role maintains tuition rates, billing liability types, ancillary charges and student enrolments across relevant systems, assesses student refund applications and provides recommendations in accordance with UOW College Australia policies and the ESOS framework.
Reporting to the Administration Manager and working closely with UOWE Finance, the UOWCA General Manager, Program Managers, Program Support, Student Advisers, international recruitment agencies, sponsors and scholarship guarantors, this role is central to supporting accurate student fee management, compliant enrolment administration and effective stakeholder service.
Key Responsibilities
Monitor, maintain and process student financial information, including payments, tuition fee instalment plans, charge reversals and ancillary fee validation.
Maintain records of incoming international student revenue and support accurate transfers and reconciliations between relevant accounts.
Review and maintain tuition charges, billing liability details and enrolment records across Fees Revenue, SAI and other relevant systems.
Assess student refund applications, process refunds and internal transfers,
and support recovery of agent commissions where required.
Manage key stages of the student enrolment lifecycle, including new student enrolments, census date monitoring, VET Student Loan and FEE-HELP processing.
Provide advice, support and training to administration and regional campus staff on complex student fee enquiries and related systems.
Contribute to continuous improvement by developing and implementing procedures for student fees, refunds and sponsored student arrangements.
Selection Criteria
The successful candidate will have:
Relevant tertiary qualification or Diploma in Business, or equivalent experience in a similar role.
Demonstrated sound knowledge of financial systems and student admission/enrolment systems and processes within a medium to large education provider.
Demonstrated sound knowledge of basic accounting and finance functions, particularly accounts payable and receivable.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication and Microsoft Excel skills, with the ability to build effective relationships across a broad range of stakeholders.
Experience in an ESOS-regulated international education environment is desirable.
Certified proof of right to work in Australia.
