Cook – Full-Time (1 Position) Rose Garden Motel , operated by NAVV PTY LTD ATF SIDHU FAMILY TRUST T/A ROSE GARDEN MOTEL , is seeking a suitably qualified and experienced Full-time Cook to join our kitchen team in Belmont VIC .
The Rose Garden Motel is ideally positioned for touring Geelong and the surrounding region , including its fabulous beaches.
The motel is located just a few minutes' drive from the Geelong CBD , providing a convenient location for guests and staff.
Position: Cook Employment Type: Full-time Location: Belmont VIC **** Salary: $75,000 – $85,000 per annum, plus superannuation About the Role The successful applicant will be responsible for preparing and cooking a range of meals in accordance with the motel's menu, food preparation procedures and quality standards.
The position requires a person who can work efficiently in a busy commercial kitchen while maintaining high standards of food quality, presentation, hygiene and safety.
Key Responsibilities Prepare and cook food according to menu requirements, recipes and established standards.
Examine foodstuffs and ingredients to ensure freshness and quality.
Prepare ingredients by cleaning, cutting, chopping, weighing and portioning as required.
Operate and monitor ovens, grills, fryers and other commercial cooking equipment.
Control cooking temperatures and cooking times to ensure food is properly prepared.
Season and adjust food during cooking to achieve the required flavour and quality.
Prepare and cook meals to meet special dietary requirements where required.




Portion and present meals with appropriate sauces, gravies and garnishes.
Monitor the quality and presentation of prepared meals before service.
Store prepared food and ingredients appropriately in temperature-controlled areas.
Maintain appropriate food storage, handling and rotation procedures.
Assist with menu planning and estimating food and ingredient requirements when required.
Monitor stock levels and notify management of food and ingredient requirements.
Maintain a clean, organised and hygienic kitchen in accordance with food safety requirements.
Assist in supervising and providing guidance to junior kitchen staff and apprentices where required.
Comply with workplace health and safety, food safety and hygiene procedures at all times.
Skills and Qualifications AQF Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or equivalent qualification.
Relevant commercial cooking experience.
Sound knowledge of food preparation, cooking methods and kitchen procedures.
Knowledge of food safety, hygiene and workplace health and safety requirements.
Ability to prepare and cook meals consistently to required quality standards.
Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a busy commercial kitchen.
Good organisational and time-management skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Robust attention to food quality, presentation and portion control.
