The Leukaemia Foundation is on an exciting transformation journey to deliver greater impact to our key stakeholders and the Australian community.
Join a national organisation standing with Australia to help cure and conquer every blood cancer – with care.
Together we're attacking every blood cancer, from every direction, in every way we can.
Now more than ever, the path to conquering blood cancer requires us to work together and ensure 100% access to the right information, the best treatments, the latest trials, tests and diagnostic tools; and the best supportive care to help people not just to survive - but also to live well.
Job Description
For 50 years, the Leukaemia Foundation has been the only national charity dedicated to Australians affected by leukaemia, lymphoma, myeloma and the 120+ other blood cancers and blood disorders.
We're made up of patients, carers, healthcare professionals, researchers and an army of volunteers and supporters – and our World's Greatest Shave campaign is one of the biggest ways we bring school communities together to help fund research and support.
We're looking for a
Youth Representative
to inspire teachers and school communities to take part in our World's Greatest Shave fundraising campaign.
About the role
This position sits within our Fundraising and Growth team.
You'll work from our offices with a friendly team to inspire teachers and school communities to take part in the World's Greatest Shave, and you'll also spend time out in the community visiting schools and inspiring students to take part.
Your mission is to bring recent schools on board, reconnect with schools that haven't been involved for a while, and support schools already taking part so they can raise even more.
What you'll be doing
Contact schools via email, phone, and in-person visits to introduce the World's Greatest Shave, secure participation, and deliver engaging presentations to students and staff
Reconnect with schools that haven't participated recently and encourage them to return with fresh ideas and support
Provide ongoing guidance, answer questions, and help schools maximise their fundraising impact for Australians affected by blood cancer
Maintain accurate records, track engagement progress, and provide updates and feedback to the team and manager
Work within a national team, share ideas, learn from others, and assist with local campaign events when required
You may also have an opportunity to do roadtrips on our new Shave Shuttle, bringing the WGS to school communities in regional areas!
What you'll bring
Confidence reaching out to schools by email, phone, and in person — even cold
Comfortable speaking to groups, from classrooms to school assemblies
Great communication skills and a friendly, approachable manner
Resilience, good organisation, and time management to juggle a busy pipeline of schools
Experience in customer service, sales, promotions, or community engagement
An understanding of schools and youth culture; CRM (e.g. Salesforce) or Microsoft Office experience a plus
A few more things
Driver's licence and your own reliable car required (kilometres reimbursed) — bonus if you hold a manual licence, as you'll be able to drive our Shave Shuttle
Current Working with Children Check (or ability to obtain one), plus standard probity checks
Office-based role (no work from home), mainly covering metro areas with regular travel in your territory, plus occasional domestic travel
Business hours only, no weekends — but expect busier hours during Term 1
Seasonal role, with no work during school holidays
You'll be part of a team that's genuinely proud of its impact, with room to grow and flexibility in how you work.
A fun, hands-on role that makes a real difference for Australians with blood cancer
Valuable work experience in the non-profit sector that looks great on your resume
Support from a friendly, welcoming team
Leukaemia Foundation is committed to building an inclusive and diverse workforce that continues to reflect the community we support. We strongly encourage people from all cultural and linguistically diverse backgrounds to apply, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
