Cambridge University NHS Foundation Trust is delighted to offer this exciting opportunity for an experienced and passionate nurse to join the Rhinology team to undertake the newly developed Clinical Nurse specialist role.
This role has been developed in order to improve the patient experience by providing key worker contact for patients and by delivering nurse-led clinics to ensure timely assessment and follow up.
It will form a key part of the Rhinology patient pathway, working alongside two Rhinology ENT consultant colleagues and collaboratively with the wider multi-disciplinary team.
This is a full time site-based role providing a Monday – Friday service.
We are looking for an experienced ENT nurse who is able to demonstrate expert clinical skills in order to provide safe, effective and efficient patient care with the guidance of Consultant Rhinologists.
Prospective candidates must be able to evidence meeting the four pillars of nursing in order to demonstrate their ability to meet advanced nursing roles but in house role specific training in rhinology will be provided to the successful candidate.

The job timetable will include support to Consultant led clinics and autonomous nurse-led clinics in rhinology and anterior skull base services, including management of biologics for patients with severe chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyps, consent for surgery, follow up for hereditary haemorrhagic telangiectasia and post operative follow ups.
This will improve clinic capacity and current standards of care.
The post holder will deliver high quality specialist nursing care, including key worker support for high-risk pathways, whilst acting as a resource to the Rhinology team and by providing bespoke education to both patients and to staff.
You will support patient assessment by both requesting and actioning the results of appropriate imaging and tests, provide expert guidance to complex patients to mitigate against emergency admissions and facilitate discharge, advise patients on medical optimization for surgery and provide co-ordination with local hospitals around the region to help provide care closer to home where clinically appropriate.
The post holder will actively engage in quality improvement work to support service improvement and will participate and lead on both clinical audit and research within the department in order to improve patient outcomes.
