About the role
Senior Revenue Officer - Responsible to the Supervisor Hospital Billing or Supervisor Private Practice, for the provision of support and oversight with respect to hospital billing or private practice administration functions.




Key duties of the role
Preparation and input of patient billing data for generation of manual and electronic claims and their submission to Medicare, health funds and other third parties
Supports the Accounts Receivable function through revenue processing, debtor management, account reconciliation, reporting, recovery activities and provision of accurate financial information to management
Provides oversight, support and assistance in the accurate receipting, banking, reconciliation and management of hospital revenue processes, including cashiering activities, customer enquiries and financial reporting requirements
Manages debt recovery and revenue functions through debtor assessment, claims follow-up, payment arrangements, reporting, legal documentation, financial analysis and providing support to revenue and finance operations
Collaborates effectively within the Finance Division and across the Women's and Children's Health Network, contributing as an active team member to achieve Finance divisional objectives and deliver quality outcomes
Skills and Experience
Demonstrated experience in health-related billing, accounts receivable, cashiering or finance processing environments




Knowledge of medical services, hospital billing, revenue and accounts receivable processes
Demonstrated ability to use computerised accounting systems and Microsoft Excel for financial processing and reporting
Strong communication, stakeholder engagement and customer service skills with the ability to maintain confidentiality
Ability to analyse information, prioritise workloads and work independently with initiative and judgement
