Duration: 8-week temporary assignment
Rate: $38 per hour + Super
We are seeking a proactive and customer-focused Rates Officer to provide short-term operational support to a busy Rating Services team during the peak rates period.
This role will assist in maintaining service levels and ensuring a high standard of customer service is delivered while managing increased volumes of enquiries and administrative tasks.
Key Responsibilities
Provide administrative support to the Rating Services team
Respond to customer enquiries relating to rates and property information
Process rates administration transactions accurately and efficiently
Maintain and update records within council systems
Assist with the preparation and processing of rates notices and associated documentation
Support the team in managing increased workloads during the peak rates period
Liaise with internal departments and external stakeholders as required
Ensure compliance with council policies, procedures, and legislative requirements
About You




Experience in rates administration or a similar administrative role
Previous local government experience (highly regarded)
Solid customer service and stakeholder engagement skills
Excellent attention to detail and data entry accuracy
Well-developed written and verbal communication skills
Strong organisational and time management abilities
Confidence using Microsoft Office Suite and corporate systems
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage competing priorities
