The Role Key Responsibilities Diagnose, disassemble and fault-find mechanical watch movements Service, assemble, lubricate and regulate mechanical movements to brand specifications Restore cases, bracelets and components to a factory-quality finish Repair or replace worn and defective components Perform precision adjustments to balance wheels, hairsprings, escapements and gear trains Regulate movements to achieve chronometer-level accuracy and performance Remove,
fit and align dials and hands with precision Conduct timing, magnetism and water resistance testing to ensure quality standards are met Complete all servicing and repairs in accordance with manufacturer standards and workshop procedures Maintain workshop tools, equipment and a clean, organised workspace Follow technical work instructions, standard operating procedures and quality processes Adhere to workplace health and safety requirements, reporting hazards and incidents promptly Assess, support and provide feedback on technical staff development, ensuring workflows, workmanship and quality meet Brand Standards Implement and maintain product specifications, technical procedures, workshop standards, and the availability, maintenance and calibration of tools and equipment Skills Experience Qualified with satisfactory completion of a watchmaking apprenticeship/WOSTEP ****hr course (or) equivalent Minimum of 5 years' experience with servicing precision mechanical timepieces (standard and chronograph) Successful completion of Evaluation SGWME ****** (or) equivalent.
E.g. OWME **** or EWME **** Ability to service timepieces to the precision criteria established by Swiss Federal Institute of Metrology (METAS) or COSC (Official Swiss Chronometer Testing Institute - ISO ****) or the relevant Brand equivalence.
Desirable qualifications – ETA ****, OME ********* or relevant Prestige Brand Experience.
