Learn more at *********************** About the role Reporting to the Chief Executive and engaging regularly with the Board, the General Manager, Investment Attraction will lead the identification and conversion of major investment opportunities capable of delivering measurable economic value.
This highly visible role requires a commercially focused executive who can identify opportunities, open doors and progress complex discussions through to tangible outcomes.




Success will be measured by the quality of the investment pipeline, the strength of industry relationships and the projects, businesses and capital secured for the city.
Leading a team of seven, the General Manager will help establish a more targeted and disciplined investment attraction model.
Key priorities include: Build a domestic and international investment pipeline across priority sectors.
Develop relationships with companies, investors, industry and government.
Deliver targeted market and trade activity with measurable outcomes.
Help businesses and investors navigate barriers and strengthen supply chains.
Advise the Chief Executive and Board while leading the team through change.
This is a hands-on role focused on outcomes rather than activity.
It requires someone who can bring the right parties together, create momentum and pursue opportunities through to an agreement, announcement or investment decision.
About you You will be a commercially astute and action-oriented leader with experience in investment attraction, deal origination, strategic business development or a related field.
Your background may include investment, banking, infrastructure, advisory, government,



economic development or an industry focused on securing and growing strategic accounts.
You know how to turn market intelligence into commercial action.
You can assess opportunities, identify what will make them viable and maintain momentum through complex stakeholder environments.
You will bring: A record of converting opportunities into commercial or economic outcomes, supported by strong business development capability and follow-through.
Credibility with business leaders, investors, government executives and Boards, with the ability to establish trusted relationships quickly.
Sound commercial judgement, analytical capability and clear communication, with an understanding of public accountability, industry ecosystems and supply chains.
A practical leadership style suited to a lean, delivery-focused organisation, supported by resilience, initiative and adaptability.
