Position specific responsibilities and requirements: The Area Manager will be embedded in the owner's construction team reporting to the Site Manager.
Responsibilities include coordinating the construction contractor's activities on site, specific duties include: Participation in the site safety initiatives and procedures and embracing the project safety culture.
Monitoring of the contractor's daily works, including quality inspection, daily progress reporting and leading indicator safety leadership activities.
Liaison with other work teams to manage interfaces including Module Logistics and Company Supplied Materials Ensuring efficient execution of the Structural Mechanical Piping (SMP) scope by guiding the contractor's teams in the installation, inspection and testing of systems, and identifying and correcting deficiencies.
Assist in interactions with mine operations and other contractors.




Monitor and review risk register development and implementation of mitigations.
Review of construction permits.
Liaise with supervisors from other areas re milestone interfaces.
Position required competencies and skills: Previous experience supervising heavy industry construction works.
Proven knowledge and experience in project planning and resource management.
Highly developed analytical and problem solving skills.
Sound communication and interpersonal skills to enable clear and concise communication of plans.
Experienced in Risk management processes including facilitation of construction risk assessment workshops.
Experience in reading and monitoring complex construction schedules will be advantageous Proficient knowledge in MS Office suite.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Position required qualifications: Recognised Australian Mechanical Trade Qualification.
Minimum of C class manual drivers licence.
Position desired experience, competencies and qualifications: 10+ year construction supervision experience.
Position desired experience, competencies and qualifications.
Previous experience in owners team or EPCM environment would be advantageous.
Previous experience with behavioral based safety management systems would be advantageous.
