Join our clients team as a Transmission Line Design Engineer, working across overhead powerline design, PLS-CADD modelling, structural infrastructure and engineering documentation.
Location: Cockburn Central | Salary: Up to $150K PA + Super, offering the opportunity to work on a range of power infrastructure projects.
About the Client Our client is a specialist engineering business delivering innovative solutions across the power and energy sector, with a strong focus on transmission and distribution infrastructure.
They work closely with clients, project teams, engineering professionals and construction crews to deliver high-quality projects from design through to completion, with a strong emphasis on technical excellence, clear communication and team-oriented project delivery.
About the Position This position will be responsible for the design and delivery of overhead transmission and distribution infrastructure, including powerlines, towers, poles and associated foundations.
The role will work closely with project managers, clients, suppliers and construction teams, providing engineering support from initial design through to construction and project close-out, with regular site visits and stakeholder engagement.
Key Responsibilitie s Design overhead transmission and distribution powerlines, including line profiling, span optimisation and cost optimisation.
Develop designs for powerline and telecommunications infrastructure, including lattice towers, monopoles, guyed masts and foundations.
Undertake substation civil and structural design as required.
Prepare detailed engineering documentation, including drawings, reports, calculations and specifications.




Utilise PLS-CADD and associated design software for overhead line design and modelling.
Liaise with project managers, clients, suppliers, workshop teams, shipping and construction crews to coordinate project delivery.
Provide engineering support throughout the project lifecycle, from initial design through to construction and close-out.
Attend project sites to conduct inspections, provide technical support and liaise directly with stakeholders.
Review project requirements and ensure designs meet relevant standards, specifications and client expectations.
Identify and resolve engineering issues throughout design and construction phases.
Support project scheduling, coordination and delivery to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently and within required timeframes.Experience Experience Required Degree qualification in Civil, Structural or Electrical Engineering.
Proven experience in overhead transmission and distribution line design, including line profiling and PLS-CADD.
Experience with PLS-POLE, PLS-TOWER and Space Gass is highly desirable.
Strong knowledge of powerline infrastructure and structural design, including towers, poles, foundations and steel/concrete structures.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work independently, support construction teams and attend project sites.
