MacKillop Education NSW supports young people at risk of disengaging from school to reconnect with learning and purpose.
At Waranara School in Annandale, students in Years 9–12 are supported by specialist staff to overcome challenges, improve wellbeing, and successfully complete their secondary education.
ABOUT THE ROLE
This casual relief role supports students in Years 9–12 on an as-needed basis, delivering engaging, student-centred lessons that promote re‐engagement and wellbeing.
You will work closely with colleagues, families and community partners to support young people facing complex challenges while maintaining a safe, inclusive and compliant learning environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Deliver learning:
Teach engaging lessons aligned to the NSW (NESA) curriculum for Years 9–12
Plan with purpose:
Develop programs, differentiate learning, and adapt to diverse needs
Assess effectively:
Create and mark assessments to track student progress
Collaborate:
Work with staff and support disability provisions
Support the school:
Supervise students and contribute to meetings
Grow professionally:
Maintain accreditation through ongoing development
We are seeking 1x Casual Relief Teacher to join our MacKillop Education Program based in Annandale, NSW.
KEY SELECTION CRITERIA
To be successful in this role, you will have:
Demonstrated experience teaching the NSW (NESA) curriculum in a secondary setting
Student‐centred approach, with strong skills in differentiated instruction
Highly organised, with proven ability to manage lesson planning, assessment, records and reporting
Flexible and collaborative, able to work effectively within a small team setting
Experience supporting secondary students with complex and diverse needs (highly desirable)
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
NESA Teacher Registration
Valid and current NSW Driver's Licence;
Satisfactory Criminal History Check;
Valid Employee Working with Children Check;
Valid and current NDIS Workers Screening Check (for risk assessed / client facing roles)
