About the Role
The Diesel Motor Mechanic position is responsible for servicing, diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing diesel‐powered trucks and heavy vehicles as part of the business's day‐to‐day workshop operations.
The role supports fleet reliability by ensuring vehicles are maintained in accordance with manufacturer specifications, safety requirements, and operational standards.

Salary:
$85,000 to $95,000 + Superannuation
Key Responsibilities
Inspect diesel‐powered trucks and heavy vehicles to diagnose mechanical faults and defects
Perform scheduled servicing and preventative maintenance on diesel engines and associated systems
Repair and replace defective engine, transmission, steering, suspension, braking, hydraulic, and electrical components
Test and adjust mechanical systems following servicing and repair work




Carry out engine tuning and fault‐finding using appropriate diagnostic equipment
Maintain service records, repair documentation, and parts usage records
Ensure vehicles meet operational safety and roadworthiness requirements following repairs
Maintain workshop tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean and secure condition
Assist with identifying maintenance requirements to minimise vehicle downtime
Follow workplace health and safety procedures at all times
Candidate Requirements
Relevant qualification such as Certificate III in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology or equivalent
Minimum 1–2 years of full‐time relevant work experience in a similar role
Experience servicing and repairing diesel‐powered trucks or heavy vehicles
Strong understanding of diesel engines, heavy vehicle mechanical systems, and diagnostic procedures
Ability to diagnose and resolve mechanical faults efficiently
Strong attention to detail and problem‐solving skills
Ability to work effectively within a workshop and team environment
