About the Role: The Biodiversity Coordination Unit (BCU), within the Conservation and Wildlife Branch, is responsible for the preparation of the Biodiversity Act and the undertaking of targeted action using evidence-based priorities and communicating these.
The BCU Coordinator is responsible for providing high level program development, planning and coordination for the BCU.
The role has a priority focus on providing strategic thought leadership to inform the direction of the forward plan for biodiversity initiatives, providing executive support and coordination for the internal steering committee and external panel of experts that guide the strategy, and project management and coordination to ensure delivery of the program.

Contract:



Temporary Backfill Contract up to 6 months Desirable Qualifications: An appropriate degree/qualification in natural resources management, project management, business management or similar is desirable.
Experience working with Aboriginal Communities.
Special Conditions: May be required to participate in emergency preparedness, response and recovery activities required by government agencies.
You must be an Australian citizen, permanent resident, or provide evidence that you hold a valid working visa that allows you to work in Australia.
Willingness and ability to safely operate a 4WD.
A successful applicant who is not currently employed by the Department for Environment and Water will be required to have an original photo identification document sighted and provide a valid Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check (NCCHC) issued within the last 12 months.
