We're looking for an exceptional Senior Spatial Architect to lead the architecture, governance and delivery assurance of enterprise-scale geospatial platforms across utilities, infrastructure, government and asset-intensive industries.
This is a senior technical leadership role at the intersection of enterprise architecture, cloud transformation and spatial technology.
You'll be the trusted technical authority for complex GIS transformation programs — shaping strategy, modernising platforms and advising executive stakeholders.
What you'll do Define enterprise GIS strategies, target architectures and transformation roadmaps Lead end-to-end spatial architecture across applications, data, integration, cloud, security and operations Act as Design Authority across major GIS and digital transformation programs Shape cloud-hosted GIS platforms, including scalability, resilience, security and DR Lead spatial data architecture, migration, governance and enterprise integration Provide independent architecture assurance, risk management and technical governance Advise executives and senior stakeholders on technology strategy and investment Mentor architects, consultants and technical teams while strengthening spatial capability What we're looking for 10+ years' experience in GIS/spatial architecture, enterprise architecture or senior spatial technology leadership Australian Citizens only Proven delivery of large-scale GIS transformation or modernisation programs Deep expertise across enterprise GIS, spatial data and integration architecture Strong cloud architecture experience across AWS and/or Azure Experience with architecture governance, design assurance and executive engagement Experience leading multidisciplinary teams in complex delivery environments Highly desirable: experience across utilities, energy, water, transport,
mining or other asset-intensive industries, with exposure to SAP/Maximo/EAM, mobility, analytics, large-scale data migration and consulting environments.
Technical landscape Ideally, you'll have strong experience across technologies such as ArcGIS Enterprise/Online/Pro, Utility Network, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, Oracle, FME, REST APIs, AWS/Azure, CI/CD and Infrastructure as Code.
