Ayan Infotech are looking for a Lead Security Architect for a short term contract to start with (possibly extend) and can be performed from any capital cities of Australia.
All applicants must have full unrestricted work rights in Australia.
Title: Lead Security Architect Location: Australia-wide (Hybrid) Type: Contract (initially to end of Dec 26, may extend) Role Summary Senior security architecture qualified responsible for defining secure solution architectures, influencing strategic technology decisions, managing complex initiatives, and ensuring security controls are embedded across enterprise environments.
Key Accountabilities Ensure solution architectures comply with security policies, standards, patterns, and principles, with deviations managed through formal risk processes.
Perform security quality assurance activities and support operational readiness processes.
Mentor and develop Security Architects.
Produce and maintain security architecture patterns and guidelines.
Act as a subject matter expert across one or more security domains.
Communicate and influence stakeholders at executive level.
Manage high-complexity programs of work.
Key Responsibilities Collaborate with business stakeholders, architects, engineers, delivery teams, vendors, and partners to define and operationalise security controls.
Drive assessments of emerging security capabilities and align architecture roadmaps with business objectives.
Define reusable assets such as standardised security requirements and solution patterns.
Contribute to the development and governance of security strategy, standards, frameworks, and architecture practices.




Define security solution architectures and document business and security impacts across design and assessment artefacts.
Identify and communicate security risks using insights from privacy, legal, engineering, and operational stakeholders.
Build strategic relationships with technology vendors and industry partners to anticipate emerging opportunities and threats.
Mentor Security Architects through coaching, shadowing, guidance, and feedback.
Create and maintain reusable security architecture design patterns and guidelines.
Provide trusted advisory services across security domains.
Simplify complex initiatives to support effective execution and delivery.
Essential Qualifications and Experience 8+ years of experience delivering complex security solutions, including security requirements, control design, and threat/risk assessments.
Experience solving enterprise-scale security challenges in highly ambiguous environments.
Experience developing or contributing to architecture and technology strategy.
Tertiary qualifications in Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline.
Highly Desirable Industry certifications including CRISC, CISSP, CISM, SABSA, CCNP, CCIP, CCIE, CCSP, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect Expert, TOGAF, ITIL, or COBIT.
Experience working within Agile and DevOps environments.
Knowledge of IT systems planning, design, and technical architecture.
Experience designing Service-Oriented and RESTful architectures.
Experience securing Agentic AI solutions.
Experience designing secure cloud-based solutions.
