The Royal Flying Doctor Service South Eastern Section (RFDSSE) is seeking a motivated and community-minded Community Engagement Worker / Administrator to join our growing Mental Health AoD team in Lightning Ridge.
Supported by significant funding to expand services across the local community, this role is ideal for someone at the beginning of their career who is passionate about helping people and creating positive change.
You will work alongside experienced Mental Health and AoD professionals, gaining valuable skills and exposure to community programs, stakeholder engagement, and service delivery.
Based in Lightning Ridge, with opportunities to engage across the wider Walgett region, this role offers variety, meaningful work, and plenty of opportunities to learn and grow.
About the Role As a Community Engagement Worker / Administrator, you'll play an important role in supporting the delivery of community-based wellbeing and alcohol and other drug programs.
No two days are the same.
One day you may be helping coordinate a community event, and the next you could be supporting school-based programs, connecting with local organisations, or assisting with program administration.
You'll be supported by an experienced multidisciplinary team who will help you develop the skills and confidence needed to succeed in the role.
Key Responsibilities Support the delivery of alcohol and other drug, wellbeing, and early intervention programs.
Build positive relationships with schools, community groups, and local service providers.
Assist with community events, workshops, education sessions, and engagement activities.
Help increase awareness of available support services across the region.
Work alongside Mental Health Clinicians and other team members to support positive outcomes for individuals and families.
Contribute to stakeholder meetings and community networking opportunities.
Assist with administration, reporting, and program coordination activities.
Identify opportunities to better support community needs and engagement.
About You We're looking for someone who is enthusiastic, eager to learn, and passionate about supporting rural and remote communities.
You may be a recent graduate, currently studying, or looking to take the next step into the community services, health, or wellbeing sector.
We'd Love to Hear From You If You Have: A qualification in Community Services, Alcohol and Other Drugs, Mental Health, Psychology, Social Work, Health, or a related field, or are currently studying towards one.
(Certificate III qualifications and students are encouraged to apply.)
A genuine interest in supporting people and improving community wellbeing.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
The ability to build positive relationships with a wide range of people.
Good organisational and administrative skills.
A willingness to learn, take initiative, and contribute to a supportive team environment.
A current Driver's Licence and Working With Children Check (or willingness to obtain one).
