Perioperative Nurse Unit Manager (NUM) Sydney NSW | Full-Time | Leadership Opportunity We are seeking a agile and experienced Perioperative Nurse Unit Manager to lead a busy perioperative services team within a leading hospital in Sydney.
This is an excellent chance for an experienced perioperative leader who is passionate about clinical excellence, staff development and delivering outstanding patient outcomes.
About the Role as the Perioperative NUM, you will provide operational and clinical leadership across the perioperative department, ensuring the delivery of safe, high-quality and patient-centred care.
You will be responsible for leading and supporting a multidisciplinary team while working closely with senior hospital management, surgeons and other key stakeholders to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the theatre complex.
Key responsibilities will include: Provide strong clinical and operational leadership across perioperative services Lead, mentor and develop a high-performing nursing team Oversee daily theatre operations, staffing and workforce requirements Support effective theatre utilisation, rostering and resource management Ensure compliance with relevant clinical, legislative and accreditation standards Drive quality improvement, clinical governance and risk management initiatives Monitor and improve patient care, safety and clinical outcomes Work collaboratively with surgeons, anaesthetists and multidisciplinary teams Support staff performance,
education and professional development Contribute to departmental planning, budgeting and service improvement Foster a positive, supportive and collaborative team culture About You We are looking for an experienced perioperative leader who can demonstrate: Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse Significant experience within a perioperative/theatre environment Previous experience in a Nurse Unit Manager, Perioperative Manager or equivalent senior leadership position Strong knowledge across Scrub, Scout and Anaesthetics Excellent clinical leadership and people management skills Demonstrated experience with theatre operations, rostering and workforce management Strong understanding of clinical governance, WHS and quality improvement Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills The ability to lead confidently in a busy and complex hospital environment A genuine commitment to patient-centred care and developing nursing teams What's On Offer Full-time permanent chance Opportunity to lead and influence a highly skilled perioperative team Supportive senior leadership environment Professional development and career progression opportunities Work within a contemporary hospital environment Competitive remuneration package Opportunity to make a genuine impact on perioperative services and patient care Interested?
