Supporting this service is our 9‐cot level 4 Special Care Nursery.The SCN operates as a Level 4 service under the Queensland Clinical Services Capability Framework (CSCF), which includes, but is not limited to caring for babies born at 32 weeks' gestation and birth weight of ≥**** grams.
It comprises a High Dependency Unit (HDU) which provides care for babies who meet criteria,



providing but not limited to:Minimally Invasive Surfactant (MIST)Humidified high flow nasal cannula oxygenLow flow oxygenPurpose of the roleThe Registered Nurse is responsible for providing quality nursing services within a health service setting, consulting with the Nurse Unit Manager, Clinical Nurse Consultant/Educator or team leader in the coordination and standards of care for patients within the unit.
As the Registered Nurse, you will demonstrate competence in the provision of nursing care as specified by registration requirements, NMBA standards and codes, educational preparation, relevant legislation and context of care.Your duties will include:Monitoring neonates and recording observationsDaily care of babies in SCNSupporting and assisting with feeding of babiesSupporting families with bonding during their stayUse of CPAP equipmentAbility to work shift workCurrent Registered Nurse with AHPRAMinimum of 2 years neonatal nursing level 4 nursery experienceDemonstrated ability to work independently and unsupervised in the Special Care NurseryCommitment to Quality Patient CareCompliance with ACQSHC National standardsSound clinical decision making and problem‐solving skillsExcellent communication and customer service skillsWorks well independently and within a teamIntermediate computer skillsPost graduate qualifications in neonatal nursing (or working towards)About working for Gold Coast Private HospitalGold Coast Private Hospital is currently owned and operated by Healthscope, a private hospital operator and healthcare provider.
