In Australia, the business is building a substantial pipeline across wind, solar PV and battery energy storage systems (BESS), supported by experienced local leadership and international backing.The company is entering a critical phase of growth and is seeking an experienced development leader to shape, scale and deliver a high‐quality pipeline of projects nationally.ScopeReporting to the Executive Team; you will lead the Australian development function across renewable energy and BESS projects.
This is a strategic leadership role with full accountability for pipeline progression from origination through to financial close.Key responsibilities include:Leading, mentoring and growing a team of Development Managers and Project DirectorsDriving greenfield origination, land identification and landholder negotiationsOverseeing development activities including planning approvals, environmental assessments,



grid connection strategy and cultural heritage processesManaging multi‐state permitting pathways and regulatory compliancePrioritising projects using structured risk and chance frameworksAllocating resources across the portfolio to maximise value creationDe‐risking projects from early‐stage assessment through to investment‐ready statusSupporting acquisition due diligence and self‐origination initiativesCoordinating cross‐functional workstreams including engineering, commercial, finance and procurementEngaging with landowners, communities, regulators and key external stakeholdersContributing to broader portfolio strategy and long‐term growth planningPreparing board‐level reporting and presenting to senior stakeholders and investorsThis role requires both strategic oversight and hands‐on development leadership across complex utility‐scale assets.About YouYou are a senior renewable energy development professional with a proven track record delivering large‐scale projects in the Australian market.8+ years' experience in renewable energy project developmentDemonstrated experience leading projects from origination through land, approvals and financial closeStrong working knowledge of Australian planning, environmental and grid connection frameworksExperience in utility‐scale BESS and/or wind and solar developmentCommercial acumen with experience negotiating land tenure and key project agreementsStrong financial literacy and understanding of project viability and riskExperience leading and developing multidisciplinary teamsHigh‐level stakeholder engagement capability across regulators, communities and landownersA structured, strategic approach to pipeline management and capital deploymentA commitment to best‐practice HSE and governance standards
