Intermediate Tax | Business Services AccountantExceptional candidates are encouraged to apply for an Intermediate accountant position.We are a progressive accounting practice located in the south east suburb of Mentone, in search of a talented and proactive accountant with a minimum of 4 years experience in a similar fast paced environment.Your opportunityReporting directly to the partners of the firm, you will be trained to understand all areas of accounting and tax law whilst gaining invaluable experience through working on an extensive portfolio of clients across all industries.
You will have the aptitude to learn quickly and apply your knowledge and skills across multiple contexts.
Your drive and determination will be the key to your success.You will be responsible for and involved with:Preparing financial statements and tax returns for all entities including companies, trusts, partnerships, and individualsPreparing of BAS/IASPreparing of various other statutory requirements (superannuation, payroll tax, Work Cover etc.)Liaising with clients regarding tax advice,



bookkeeping matters and business support including assistance with softwareLiaising directly with Australian Taxation Office (ATO) and other Regulatory BodiesTax Planning for a varied client baseEstablishment of various business structuresASIC complianceAbout youThe successful candidate will have:A minimum 4 years of experience working in a quick-paced Australian Business Accounting PracticeA Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Commerce or similarStrong communication skills and an eye for detailAn ability to work independently and under pressureAn ability to prioritise work effectivelyExperience with a variety of accounting packages, including Xero and MYOB etc.Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel for financial analysis and reportingPermanent right to work in Australia (citizenship, permanent residency, or valid work visa)Ability to obtain a current National Police Check due to access to confidential client informationExperience with Xero XPM would be highly regarded but not essential.
