Through our operations we facilitate over $25 billion in international trade annually and are the key platform for South Australian two-way trade in goods.Role OverviewThe Assets Mechanical Engineer plays a crucial role in ensuring the success of our engineering projects.
The role provides mechanical engineering advisory service to the business to inform asset management strategy, capital works planning and decision-making processes associated with relevant assets and infrastructure.
The role is responsible for the ongoing management and maintenance of the Group's mechanical assets, including cranes, fixed fire systems, and floating plant assets, as well as developing, reviewing, maintaining and implementing Asset Management Plans, including performing asset inspections and risk assessments, to optimise asset life cycle performance and compliance to standards, while balancing safety, cost, levels of service and efficiency.Key ResponsibilitiesPrepare and analyse data, and collaborate with operations and maintenance teams, to support capital works planning and informed decision-making for relevant assets and infrastructureTogether with the Assets and Engineering team, provide advice on management of facilities, risk, technology, process enhancement and business opportunitiesAssist with the implementation of infrastructure maintenance programs to ensure assets are performing to meet required levels of service in a safe,



efficient and reliable mannerMonitor asset performance and levels of service to ensure regular feedback is provided into the planning processSupport in the development of the asset management strategy for relevant asset classes and documentation in Asset Management PlansContribute towards the development and prioritisation of project and program briefs incorporating the relevant asset outcomes, scoping budgets etcProject manage and deliver minor capital and non-routine maintenance projectsAssist in the management of technical risk via technical specifications, risk assessments, project and program delivery support, and definition and application of appropriate standardsProvide estimates and relevant documentation to inform effective tender processes, and participate in tender assessment and engineering evaluationsAssist in the preparation of budgets, reports and forecasts, ensuring they are presented in an accurate and timely mannerStrengthen customer relationships (both internal and external) by acting as a point of contact and providing expert advice regarding mechanical engineering servicesAbout youDemonstrated ability to manage the forward planning and implementation of asset outcomes, and practically apply contemporary technical product knowledge and budgetary and resource allocation skillsExperience using assets and engineering systems and software including CAD and Microsoft suiteExcellent problem-solving skills and analytical mindset with the ability to think creatively to develop practical solutions to overcome challengesHigh level of attention to detail and organisation skills with a proactive and diligent approach, demonstrating an ability to plan and work on multiple projects concurrentlyHighly developed interpersonal, verbal, and written communication, stakeholder management, and collaboration skills,
