Central Gippsland Health Service – Sale VICCentral Gippsland Health (CGH) is a sub-regional health service and the major provider of health and aged care services in the Wellington Shire.
CGH is located in the City of Sale which is 215 km east of Melbourne.
CGH provides acute care as part of an integrated service delivery model across Wellington Shire and beyond.
The service provides beds across three campuses (Sale, Maffra and Heyfield).
Acute services include a full-time emergency department, critical care unit, neonatal critical care unit, three operating theatres, day procedure unit, oncology and dialysis services in addition to general medical and services and sub-acute services including rehabilitation.About the TeamThe Advanced Trainee General Medicine is one of two Trainee positions in this team, who work with a small team of Medical Registrars and Interns to manage medical patients under five General Physicians.
The teams work collaboratively and closely together with the broader medical team, as well as others throughout the Health Service.Key ResponsibilitiesClinical management of medical admitted inpatients under the care of Physicians, including appropriate history taking, physical examination, investigation, assessment, care planning and coordinationRegularly review paitnet care objectives, physical and mental status,



including development and communciation of a discharge planMaintain patient flow and excellent quality of care in collaboration with othersProvide clinical support for other RegistrarsFacilitate discharge summaries and support Registrars and Interns with completing other discharge summaries as required, on day of dischargeParticipate in, and perform certain procedures, with increasing independence over timeAttend emergency Codes and MET calls within the HospitalFurther duties as outlined in the Position DescriptionQualifications, Skills and ExperienceMBBS or equivalent degree enabling General registration with the Medical Board of AustraliaSatisfactory completion of the FRACP Written Examination +/ the Clinical Examination and are eligible to progress to Provisional Advanced TrainingRegistration as a Medical Practitioner with AHPRA (note - eligible applicants will be assisted through this process if not currently registered)Completion of BPT Postgraduate trainingSalary packagingEmployee Assistance ProgramSocial ClubAll appointments are made subject to the candidate providing a current satisfactory National Police Certificate.At CGH we acknowledge the importance of creating a work environment that is welcoming, secure, equitable and inclusive.
