With a robust focus on quality, freshness and food safety, AFC supplies fresh, made-on-site sushi to customers every day through its franchise network.About the roleWe're looking for a Food Safety Specialist to join AFC on a field-based basis across Melbourne and Victoria.
Reporting to the Quality Assurance and Regulatory Manager, you'll make sure every sushi kiosk in your territory is meeting its regulatory and food safety obligations and operating in line with AFC's Food Safety and Quality Management System.This is a hands-on, autonomous role out in the field - auditing kiosks, coaching franchisees and their teams, and keeping food safety standards high across the network.What you'll be doingManaging the GMP audit schedule and conducting regular GMP audits of sushi kiosksRaising reports and non-conformances to the Quality Team and franchisees, and closing them out by re-visiting kiosks and re-assessing staff for complianceConducting six-monthly environmental swabbing and ensuring results are within specificationInvestigating customer complaints,
completing root-cause analysis and compiling reports for the retailer's food safety team, with prompt close-outEnsuring each kiosk has an appointed Food Safety Supervisor with current, valid certificationDelivering induction training to new franchisees, assessing prospective franchisees, and managing the online training program to full completionGuiding kiosks in their preparation for major retailer quality-assurance audits, representing AFC at those audits, and arranging re-training where non-conformances are identifiedAbout youExperience in food safety, quality assurance or GMP auditing - ideally within food retail, foodservice or manufacturingSound working knowledge of GMP, HACCP and food safety standardsConfident conducting audits, investigating non-conformances and driving corrective actions to close-outComfortable training, coaching and influencing others, including franchisees and kiosk staffA food safety or food science qualification (or food safety supervisor / auditing certifications) well regardedA current driver's licence and your own reliable vehicle - this is a field-based role with regular travel to kiosks across the territoryA confident communicator who works well autonomously and builds strong relationships with franchisees, store teams and auditorsWhy joinJoin a well-established fresh food business where food safety genuinely matters, in a varied, autonomous role that gets you out in the field rather than behind a desk.
