Job DescriptionDasmesh Group Pty Ltd As a Diesel Motor Mechanic with Dasmesh Group, you will be responsible for diagnosing, servicing, maintaining and repairing diesel engines and the mechanical components of trucks and other heavy vehicles , ensuring our fleet operates safely, reliably and efficiently.

Task & responsibilities Detect and diagnose mechanical and electrical faults in diesel engines and vehicle components using appropriate diagnostic equipment and computerised systems.
Diagnose, service, repair and maintain diesel engines and mechanical systems in trucks and other heavy vehicles.
Dismantle and remove engine assemblies, transmissions, steering mechanisms and other vehicle components, and inspect parts for wear, damage and faults.
Repair and replace worn, damaged or defective parts and reassemble mechanical components in accordance with manufacturer specifications and service manuals.
Repair, maintain and overhaul transmissions, suspension, steering and braking systems.
Perform scheduled and preventative maintenance, including oil changes, lubrication and engine tune-ups, to maintain vehicle reliability and performance.




Reassemble engines and mechanical components following repairs and ensure correct installation and operation.
Test and adjust repaired mechanical components to ensure proper performance and safe operation.
Diagnose and test vehicle components with the assistance of computers and specialised diagnostic equipment.
Conduct engine tune-ups, fuel system repairs and adjustments to optimise vehicle performance and efficiency.
Test and inspect repaired vehicles to confirm protected operation, roadworthiness and compliance with applicable requirements.
Respond to vehicle breakdowns and undertake fault finding, troubleshooting and emergency repairs when required.
Maintain accurate service, maintenance, inspection and repair records.
Follow workplace health and safety procedures and maintain a safe, clean and organised workshop.
Work collaboratively with drivers, workshop personnel and operations staff to identify repair requirements and minimise vehicle downtime.
Qualification & experience AQF Certificate III in Automotive Diesel Engine Technology or a related trade qualification or AQF Certificate IV in a relevant automotive trade.
A minimum of three years of relevant work experience may substitute for the formal qualification requirements.
Demonstrated experience in diagnosing, servicing, repairing,



and maintaining diesel engines and heavy vehicle mechanical systems.
Strong knowledge of diesel engine components, fuel systems, transmissions, braking, steering, and suspension systems.
Proficiency in using diagnostic equipment and computerised fault-finding tools.
Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills with strong attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
Good communication and record-keeping skills.
Registration or licensing may be required in accordance with relevant state or territory regulations.
