Program Coordinator – Remote NDIS Services
Full-time permanent position
SCHADS Industry Award – Level 4
Based in Cairns with regular travel Aurukun
Not every leadership role creates lasting change.
At EMG Inclusive Supports, we're building something different.
We work alongside remote and very remote communities across Cape York, the Torres Strait and regional Queensland, supporting people with disability to live meaningful lives while creating meaningful employment opportunities and strengthening local workforces.
We're looking for an experienced Program Coordinator who is passionate about supporting remote communities and helping people grow.
This role will play a key part in supporting our operations in Aurukun, while creating opportunities for local people to develop their skills, confidence and leadership potential.
About the Role
As Program Coordinator, your initial focus will be supporting our operations in Aurukun.
You will work closely with the local team of Support Workers to ensure the delivery of quality, person-centred supports while maintaining strong day-to-day operations.
This role will initially involve regular travel to Aurukun, where you'll work closely with the local workforce to strengthen operations, support professional development and help create pathways for emerging local leaders.
Building trusted relationships, developing local capability and supporting long-term community-led service delivery will be central to your success in the role.
The role is based in Cairns and may also provide support across other remote regions as operational needs develop.
You will:
Coordinate the delivery of quality, person-centred supports
Support, mentor and develop members of the local workforce
Identify and support emerging leaders within the team
Assist with workforce planning, rostering and service coordination
Strengthen documentation, service records and billing processes
Monitor service quality, compliance and operational performance
Support staff training, induction and professional development
Assist with incident management, risk management and continuous improvement activities
Build strong relationships with clients, families, community stakeholders and internal teams
Travel regularly to Aurukun to provide operational support and workforce development
About You
We believe this role is particularly well suited to someone who understands the unique dynamics of remote communities, along with experience working within the Disability/NDIS sector.

You may have lived, worked or held leadership roles in remote, regional or community-based settings and understand that sustainable outcomes come from investing in local capability rather than relying on fly-in, fly-out solutions.
You will also bring an understanding of the NDIS environment, including the importance of delivering quality, compliant and person-centred supports that genuinely improve outcomes for people with disability.
At EMG Inclusive Supports, our focus is on developing local workforces, creating leadership pathways and supporting communities to build their own long-term capacity.
We're looking for someone who values this approach and is passionate about mentoring others, strengthening local leadership and creating opportunities for people to grow within their own communities.
You'll bring:
Experience working in remote First Nations communities
Demonstrated leadership, staff supervision or workforce development experience
Experience within disability, community services, health, aged care or human services
Strong communication and relationship-building skills
The ability to mentor and support staff to achieve their potential
Sound problem-solving and organisational skills
The ability to work independently and adapt to changing priorities
Experience managing workplace conflict in a respectful and constructive manner
Robust written reporting and computer skills
A commitment to quality service delivery and positive outcomes for people with disability
Qualifications in Community Services, Disability, Leadership & Management or a related field are highly regarded but not essential.
Why Join EMG Inclusive Supports?
Why This Role is Different.
Remote leadership is different.
Success in this role is about more than maintaining service delivery.
It's about building relationships, supporting staff to succeed and helping create opportunities for local people to grow within their own communities.

You'll be supported by an experienced leadership team that understands remote service delivery and the unique opportunities and challenges that come with working alongside remote communities.
Essential Requirements
Willingness and ability to travel regularly to Aurukun and other remote communities when required
Demonstrated experience working in remote First Nations communities
Current Driver Licence
Current or ability to obtain NDIS Worker Screening Clearance
Current or ability to obtain Blue Card
Current First Aid and CPR, or willingness to obtain
