Skills Australia Institute (SAI) is a leading Registered Training Organisation (RTO) delivering nationally recognised qualifications to domestic and international students across a range of industries including Carpentry, Tiling, Bricklaying, Automotive and Business Services.
We are seeking an experienced, enthusiastic and passionate Training and WHS Manager for an RTO located in East Cannington to ensure compliant and safe work practices, lead our training operations and support our team of trainers and assessors in delivering engaging, industry relevant and high-quality vocational education.
This is a leadership role focused on training excellence, trainer development, student outcomes and industry engagement, and reports to the Quality and Compliance Manager.
About the Role
You will be responsible for:
overseeing the day-to-day activities of trainers and assessors
managing the training and assessment activities across all courses
supporting and mentoring trainers and assessors to achieve excellence in delivery and student engagement
conducting trainer observations, coaching sessions, mentoring and career development activities
supporting the leadership team in the implementation and continuous improvement of safety management systems and plans
promoting a proactive safety culture and operational excellence across all levels of the workforce
preparing and distribute WHS reports, presentations, and safety communications
conduct WHS inspections and action as required
building and maintaining strong relationships with employers, industry bodies and stakeholders
conducting industry consultation activities
participating in management meetings and strategic planning activities.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will possess the following essential and desirable requirements:
Essential
Certificate IV in Training and Assessment
Five years or more of demonstrated experience managing trainers and training operations within an RTO environment.
Hands-on-experience and knowledge of the **** Standards for Registered Training Organisations (RTOs)
Strong understanding of competency-based training and assessment.
Experience in trainer mentoring, coaching and professional development.
Excellent leadership, communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
Current industry engagement and understanding of vocational education best practice.
Strong organisational and project management skills.
Desirable
Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety
Experience managing multiple training industry areas.
Experience with domestic and international student delivery.
