This flexible position will be tailored to the successful candidate's strengths, in the areas of estimating, project planning, coordination, delivery, or continuous improvement.
The role supports the successful planning and delivery of civil construction projects across residential development and civil infrastructure sectors, with a strong focus on safety, quality, budget control, program performance, and practical project outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Project Planning & Delivery
Develop and manage construction programs and schedules.
Coordinate site activities to meet project milestones.
Monitor progress and improve productivity.
Support projects from commencement to completion.
Cost Management & Contract Administration
Manage project budgets and costs.
Assess, price, negotiate, and implement contract variations.
Support forecasting, cost reporting, and financial reviews.
Develop cost-effective construction methods.
Engineering & Technical Support
Review designs, specifications, and documentation.
Complete quantity take-offs and verify tender quantities.
Provide engineering support to resolve site issues.
Ensure compliance with standards and regulations.
Procurement & Resource Management
Procure materials, equipment and subcontractors.
Coordinate resources to maximise efficiency.
Develop and improve construction systems and processes.
Quality, Safety & Compliance
Conduct site inspections and audits.
Promote and enforce workplace safety.
Manage quality assurance and testing programs.
Ensure works comply with specifications and client requirements.
Estimating & Tendering
Prepare/Assist with estimates and tender submissions.
Evaluate risks, methodologies, and pricing.
Contribute to competitive tender proposals.
Communication & Continuous Improvement
Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Maintain solid relationships with clients, consultants, suppliers, and subcontractors.
Drive innovation and continuous improvement initiatives.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, Construction management, or related discipline; or
Significant practical experience in civil construction project delivery.
Experience Required
The position is flexible and can be adjusted around specific strengths & experience, but preferred experience includes:
3 years' experience in a Civil Construction Engineer, Project Engineer, or Project Management role.
Experience in:
Residential subdivisions
Pipelaying
Drainage
Electrical & NBN conduits
Civil water & sewer projects
Technical Skills
Microsoft Office (particularly Excel and Word).
Microsoft Project.
Estimating software (Expert Estimation preferred).
Understanding of civil construction contracts, specifications, and regulations.
Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation.
Personal Attributes

Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Commercial awareness and attention to detail.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
