Facilities & Maintenance Manager
Full-time | Salaried | Forrestfield, WA | Regular regional travel
Bruce Rock Engineering (BRE) is a leading Australian manufacturer of road transport equipment, with more than 45 years of industry experience and manufacturing operations across Western Australia.
We're looking for an experienced Facilities & Maintenance Manager to take ownership of the reliability, safety and operational performance of our facilities, assets and equipment across our WA operations.
Reporting to the Head of Aftersales, this is a hands-on leadership role combining strategic planning with operational execution.
You'll play a critical role in keeping our manufacturing and service operations running safely and efficiently, while developing proactive maintenance strategies that minimise downtime and maximise asset reliability.
With responsibility spanning multiple sites and regional locations, this is an opportunity to make a genuine impact across the BRE network.
What you'll be doing
You'll have end-to-end responsibility for facilities, maintenance and asset management, including:
Develop and implement preventative and predictive maintenance programs across BRE's WA manufacturing sites and regional workshops.
Lead breakdown response and maintenance activities to minimise production and operational downtime.
Oversee buildings, grounds, hardstands, utilities, structural infrastructure and general site facilities.
Lead and support facility cleaning and maintenance teams, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently and to BRE standards.
Manage inspection, certification and maintenance schedules for specialised manufacturing tooling, lifting equipment and workshop assets.
Ensure statutory compliance and accurate record keeping for assets including cranes, EWPs, pressure vessels and chemical storage facilities.
Manage calibration schedules for critical fabrication and assembly equipment.
Establish and manage relationships with external trades, contractors, technicians and facility service providers.
Develop and manage Master Service Agreements (MSAs) and Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
Lead contractor engagement, including site inductions, job scoping, safety documentation and quality assurance.
Manage quotations, procurement, commercial negotiations and contractor performance to ensure value for money.
Work closely with Production,
Engineering and other departments to prioritise maintenance and proactively manage critical equipment.
Conduct root-cause analysis on breakdowns and incidents and implement solutions to prevent recurrence.
Maintain accurate maintenance and asset records within BRE's ERP system.
Monitor budgets and control maintenance and facilities costs while balancing quality, safety and operational priorities.
Provide regular reporting to Executive leadership on maintenance activities, risks, issues, costs and upcoming priorities.
Ensure all activities comply with relevant Western Australian WHS legislation and BRE's safety standards.
Undertake regular travel to BRE's regional sites across Western Australia.
What you'll bring
We're looking for an experienced Facilities, Asset or Maintenance Manager who understands the demands of a heavy industrial or manufacturing environment and isn't afraid to get hands-on when required.
You'll ideally have:
5–7 years' experience in a Facilities Manager, Asset Manager, Workshop Manager or Maintenance Manager role within heavy industrial, manufacturing or heavy transport engineering.
Demonstrated experience managing facilities and assets across multiple sites or regional locations.
Strong technical understanding of industrial facilities, plant, equipment and infrastructure.
Knowledge of Western Australian WHS requirements and compliance relating to heavy machinery, cranes, lifting equipment and industrial facilities.
Experience managing contractors, service providers and external trades.
Robust commercial capability, including budgeting, procurement, quotation analysis and contract negotiation.
Experience with CMMS, ERP or maintenance/asset management systems.
Strong Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
A valid WA Driver's Licence and the ability to undertake regular regional travel.
A relevant trade, tertiary or diploma qualification in facilities management, asset management, engineering, building, electrical, mechanical or a related discipline.
A management qualification and experience with air conditioning,
electrical or gas systems would be advantageous.
