About the role
Join the Cays Engineering Mining Team in Mandurah and play a key role in the refurbishment of heavy mining and fixed plant equipment.
This is an experienced and reliable Industrial Painter / Blaster role that takes pride in delivering high-quality surface preparation and protective coating applications in a workshop environment.
Key responsibilities
Abrasive blasting of mining and fixed plant components and equipment
Preparation of steel surfaces to required specifications prior to painting
Industrial spray painting of refurbished mining equipment, chutes, structures and components
Application of industrial protective coating systems, including two-pack coatings
Ensuring correct surface preparation, coating thickness and finish quality
Operating and maintaining blasting and painting equipment
Inspecting completed work to ensure it meets project and quality requirements
Following work packs, specifications and coating system requirements
Maintaining a clean, safe and organised blasting and painting area
Ensuring all blasting and painting activities are completed in accordance with Cays Engineering's safety and quality procedures
About you
Proven experience as an Industrial Painter / Blaster,



preferably within mining, fabrication or heavy industry
Experience with abrasive blasting and industrial spray painting – Essential
Experience applying two-pack and other industrial coating systems
Ability to read and understand work packs, coating specifications and instructions
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
Ability to work safely with blasting equipment, compressed air and industrial coatings
Physically fit and comfortable working in an industrial workshop environment
Previous experience with mining and fixed plant equipment highly regarded
Relevant blasting/painting qualifications or training will be highly regarded
A team player with a strong safety-first attitude
