Training Alliance Group (TAG) is looking for a People and Culture Assistant to join our team in West Perth.
The role is around 20 hours a week (9 days per fortnight minimum), spread across five shorter days, by negotiation to suit the right person.
About the role
You'll support our People and Culture Coordinator and Executive Manager, People and Culture, with recruitment, employment contracts, and day-to-day HR administration across our Community services and Training programs.
Day to day, this covers pre-screening candidates, scheduling interviews, running reference checks, drafting employment contracts and letters of variation in line with the Award and NES, and keeping employee records and P&C; documentation up to date.
This is a genuine step into the world of HR.
If you are starting out, changing direction, or returning to work after a career break, we will train you in the technical side and you will learn the employment relations detail on the job alongside two experienced practitioners.
No HR background is needed (but it is certainly welcome if you have it).
The hours are built to fit around study, family or other commitments.
About you
You are great with people both in person and on the phone
An interest in employment relations and a willingness to learn the Fair Work Act, NES and modern awards
Comfortable using MS Office (Word, Outlook, Excel), with HRIS/HRMS experience a bonus but not essential
Excellent organisational and time management skills, with a sharp eye for detail
Sound judgement when handling confidential and sensitive information
Able to work through a task carefully and ask when something isn't clear
A team player with robust written and verbal communication skills
Why TAG:
Performance incentives and a recognition program
A structured induction and onboarding process
Employee Assistance Program (EAP) support
Option to cash out annual leave, or take leave in advance
Salary sacrifice super
Refer-a-friend rewards, and professional development opportunities
Access to PerkBox
TAG is an equal opportunity employer.
We welcome applications from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, the LGBTIQ+ community, and people with disability.
Need an adjustment during the recruitment process?
Just let us know.
