Your New Company:
A wholly Australian owned business with vast experience within the Quantity Surveying field across our Sydney, Melbourne, Perth, Newcastle, Brisbane, Adelaide & Canberra offices.
We specialise in Construction Cost Estimating services as well as Tax Depreciation services.
As a Newcastle based small business rapidly expanding our services across Australia, we are seeking a Junior Estimator to join our team on a permanent basis (preferable full-time however may accept conditional part-time basis).
We have achieved impressive growth, including making the BRW fastest 100 growing companies list in ****, and now require a Junior Estimator to help our fun and vibrant team and assist with our continued growth.
Your New Role:
You will be assisting the cost planning team by measuring and estimating a variety of different projects (most construction sectors but predominantly residential and commercial projects).
You will be trained in how to use the Cubit software system be mentored by the Cost Planning Management team.
You won't need to have experience with Buildsoft Cubit but having experience with it with be beneficial.
We are looking for someone who is personable, communicative, and enthusiastic about their work.

Key Responsibilities:
Measuring and estimating construction projects mostly completing estimating tasks relating to property insurance.
Using Buildsoft Cubit estimating software




Completing various quantity surveying report types mostly including Insurance Replacement Cost Plans along with progression into other report types such as DA Cost Plans, Preliminary Cost Plans, Detailed Cost Plans, Bank reports, Capital Works Fund reports and Progress Claim reports
Other associated tasks as required by the Cost Planning Manager

Intermediate Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel and Outlook)
Exceptional written and oral communication skills, demonstrating confidence, strong personal presentation skills and the ability to liaise at all levels

Outstanding organisational skills, a strong ability to prioritise competing demands and the ability to manage multiple deadlines

Sense of humour
The Requirements:
Not essential but may be beneficial – completed or currently undertaking a degree or diploma in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or related field
Strong communication and interpersonal skills




Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and relevant quantity surveying software
A proactive attitude towards learning and professional development
Problem-solving skills
