Role OverviewWe're looking for a Special Counsel to support the Sydney team.
In this role you will be exposed to a variety of insurance matters with a focus on professional indemnity, building on your experience as you progress toward more senior roles within the practice.
ResponsibilitiesProvide expert advice on policy and complex issues with a practical, client‐focused approach, manage client expectations and run matters autonomously, and mentor junior lawyers and paralegals.
RequirementsApproximately 8+ years' post‐admission experience in insurance mattersStrong knowledge of litigation and insurance law, including professional indemnity claims involving both coverage and defenceAbility to advise on policy and complex issues with a practical and client‐focused approachAbility to manage client expectations and run matters autonomouslyA explicit and concise communication styleA commercial approach and the ability to articulate and negotiate effectivelyEnthusiasm for mentoring lawyers and paralegalsStrong interest in advancing your career and taking on more responsibilityA team player who can collaborate on work
