McNaughts is a family-owned and operated transport, grain and fertiliser business based in the Finley and Berrigan area.
We are looking for an experienced, dedicated and safety-conscious
Grain Site Manager
who is ready to work shoulder-to-shoulder with the team, support and develop staff, and build strong relationships with growers, customers and the local community.
This is a hands-on leadership role, taking full responsibility for the day-to-day operation of our grain site, with a strong focus on safety, efficiency and customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
Working shoulder-to-shoulder with your team to ensure all commodities are received, stored and out-loaded safely, on time, within budget and to the required quality standard — this is a roll-up-your-sleeves kind of leadership role
Coordinating day-to-day activities of the team; coaching and supporting the development of team members, including the Grain Site Supervisor and casual harvest staff
Getting to know, understand and apply our company policies and people processes
Developing and maintaining close relationships with local growers, customers, and the local community
Driving a zero-harm safety culture across the site, including safe use of mobile and fixed plant (front end loader, JCB, skid steer, tractors, augers, sheds and silos)
Managing programmes and initiatives related to safety ('zero harm' culture) and risk management
Overseeing loading and unloading of grain trucks, and weighbridge operations (weighing trucks in accordance with mass limits)
Sampling and assessing grain quality on receivals and out-loads, ensuring compliance with quality standards

Coordinating and preparing for area maintenance and pest control teams to deliver required services
Identifying and reporting on maintenance requirements, and maintaining site presentation and standards
Managing site budgets, stock reconciliation and cost control
Coordinating with management on harvest planning, staffing levels and site readiness
Requirements (Essential):
Previous experience in grain site operations or a similar agricultural/logistics leadership role
Proven experience leading, coaching and developing a small team
Strong safety leadership and a hands-on management style
Sound understanding of grain handling, storage and quality assessment
Confident working with and overseeing mobile plant and machinery
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
Ability to work autonomously and manage competing priorities, particularly during peak harvest periods
A reliable, versatile, can-do attitude
Desirable (but not essential):
Forklift licence or other plant operating tickets
Experience coordinating maintenance or pest control services
Tertiary qualification in agriculture, business or a related field
Advantages:
Genuine leadership autonomy within a well-established, family-owned business
Supportive, safety-focused team environment
Opportunity to shape how the site runs and make a real impact
Ongoing training and development support
You will be required to meet McNaughts Transport's employment criteria, which will include a medical and drug and alcohol test.
