The Department for Infrastructure and Transport plays a vital role connecting people and places in South Australia by managing roads, marine and public transport networks across the State, and builds and maintains the State-owned infrastructure that enables the delivery of essential and important government services to our community.
The Traffic Systems team manages technology that keep South Australia's road network operating safely and efficiently while contributing to broader transport, corporate, and government objectives.
The Traffic Systems Engineer delivers traffic signals and Intelligent Transport Systems solutions, provides technical advice, and supports projects that improve network performance.
We are seeking an innovative and analytical problem solver with strong logical thinking, computer and technology skills, and a passion for continuous learning to solve complex problems and deliver smarter transport outcomes for the community.
Educational Qualifications / Licences
Degree in Engineering providing eligibility for graduate membership as a Professional Engineer of the Institution of Engineers, Australia.
A current drives licences is essential.
Special Conditions
A National Police Check (NPC) is required prior to employment in the Department for Infrastructure and Transport which must be renewed every three years.
A Working with Children Check (WWCC)



is required prior to employment with the Department for Infrastructure and Transport, which must be renewed every five years before expiry.
Some out of hours and weekend work along with some intra/interstate travel may be required.
