Role overview:
The Data Processor will be responsible for processing, analyzing, and ensuring the accuracy of hydrographic and geophysical survey data, as well as troubleshooting data anomalies, optimizing workflows, and supporting final deliverables
This role involves advanced knowledge of multibeam echosounder (MBES) data processing, geospatial analysis, and hydrographic data validation, ensuring high standards of quality and efficiency in survey data processing.
What you will do:
Provide support and guidance for planning and preparation of data processing for survey projects.
Contribute to the data processing phase of survey projects.
Contribute to data processing procedures and optimizing workflows, development of data processing capabilities, and troubleshooting complex data issues.
Apply predetermined filters and smoothing algorithms to datasets
View and compare raw and processed data sets
Providing technical guidance to junior personnel, supporting their professional development.
Check processed data against project requirements/specifications
Produce concise reports using correct grammar, language, terminology and notation
Education and experience required:
MSc or BSc in Hydrographic Surveying/Geomatics/Computer Science or equivalent.
Relevant experience can compensate for lack of formal education.
Satisfactory completion of the competence criteria for Data Processor Grade 1 or 2
Relevant experience could substitute in from a Navy.
Offshore safety training and a valid medical certificate for offshore work (not essential)

Excellent communication and co-operation skills.
Ability to lead and work within in a team.
