The Department for Infrastructure and Transport plays a vital role connecting people and places in South Australia by managing roads, marine and public transport networks across the State, and builds and maintains the State-owned infrastructure that enables the delivery of essential and important government services to our community.
The Driver Licensing Standards Team is responsible for supporting the Registrar of Motor Vehicles oversight of the driver training and assessment industry and testing of drivers for the issue or retention of a driver's licence.
The team is managing a generational reform of the driver training industry, bringing driver testing back into Government.
The Driver Training Reform includes, overseeing the development and implementation of new systems, policies, procurement, training, service delivery, and legislative frameworks and engagement with interested parties across South Australia to improve driver licensing and training outcomes.
Seeking an experienced project manager and the key duties of the role include leading the development and delivery of the driver training reforms, including:
Development and implementation of recent systems and products across IT platforms.
Procurement and integration of mobile electronic systems.
Contributing to legislative change and supporting the implementation legislative tools for the management of the driver training industry.
Contributing to the development training materials and Service delivery frameworks.
The ideal candidate is a team player who can engage across multiple groups while being strategic, adaptable, stakeholder focused,
and skilled in delivering technology-enabled change and government reform initiatives.
Special Conditions
A National Police Check (NPC) is required prior to employment in the Department for Infrastructure and Transport which must be renewed every three years.
A Working with Children Check (WWCC) is required prior to employment which must be renewed every five years before expiry.
Some out of hours and weekend work along with some intra / interstate travel may be required.
