, provides a comprehensive range of primary health care, aged care and community support services across the Gladstone and Central Queensland region.
We are seeking a motivated Family Wellbeing Office who is passionate about making a difference in the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Community, to join our multidisciplinary team and support the delivery of high-quality, culturally safe family wellbeing services to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and the wider community.

About the position:
The
Family Wellbeing Officer
will work closely as part of a team with the Program Coordinator, Family Wellbeing Officers and Child Safety Officers in providing practical services and support:
Provide culturally appropriate support to individuals and families in line with Family Care Plans, promoting positive health and wellbeing outcomes.
Assist clients to access and navigate health, community, employment, social and government services,
including attending appointments where required.
Advocate for clients and families to overcome barriers and improve access to supports and services.
Deliver practical parenting education, guidance and support to strengthen family wellbeing and capacity.
Support families to maintain and strengthen community, cultural and kinship connections.
Empower clients to actively participate in decision-making and build their capacity to coordinate their own supports.
Facilitate access to practical assistance, including transport, prescriptions and other essential services.
Maintain knowledge of available services and work collaboratively with stakeholders to connect clients with appropriate supports and resources.
This position is based in Gladstone and outreach across the Biloela region
About you:
To be successful in this position, we are seeking an individual which possess' the following:
Certificate III in Youth Work, and/or Aboriginal/Torres Strait Islander Primary Health and/or equivalent relevant experience – desirable.
Demonstrated experience working with vulnerable people and their families, including individual youth work and community engagement/development programs.
Some work outside of normal hours of duty (including on call) may be required as well as some travel across the region
Current C Class Drivers Licence (Qld) – essential
First Aid & CPR – desirable
This is an identified position, open only to Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander applicants.
Pre-employment checks, including a National Criminal History Check, LCS2 and reference checks, will be required.
